Sounds like I'll see some of you in Arkles then.
Here's the real question... where's all the Jack and Danny going to be at?

Went to Tess Riley's on Great Charlotte Street before the Liverpool game last season. Friendly pub, just round the corner from Lime Street Station and with a taxi rank right outside.

Goodison was the crime scene for the worst away day I've ever had!

98/99 think it was, when we got battered 6-0. Remember it was absolutely pissing it down, windscreen wiper broke on the motorway and had to pull up in the middle of nowhere to try and find somewhere to get it fixed.
Ended up parking miles from the ground. Got in 30mins, late, drenched, and we were already 2-0 down. Back to the car, fucking ticket! Then drove about 30mins the wrong way out of Liverpool.

Hopefully that won't be repeated this weekend!

The Baltic Fleet by the docks is a good pub but we had to cross a dual carriage way to get to it from the dock side. Probably an easier way in though.

Re: Everton Away Virgin
What Gavros said. I went to Liverpool for last NYE and also did a pub crawl there in the summer and there are a fair few very good pubs, particularly if you are like me in terms of being a beardy, chunky-knit clad, sandal wearing Real Ale bore. The Philharmonic on Hope St is one of my favourite all time pubs. There are a couple of good ones by Moorfields Station near the Premier Inn but can't recall the names off the top of my head.

There is quite a good ale map you can get which tells you where the decent boozers are...

Re: Everton Away Virgin
If you cant find anything down by the dock (and id be surprised as they think they're posh down there) then head into town, you'll be guaranteed to find a pub with it on somewhere. all else fails walkabout on concert square will have it on and loads of bars around that way.

Cheers Gav and Danny - staying in the Albert Dock and looking for a boozer in the evening that has the boxing on.... Few of my pals did suggest Arkles as well before the game

Gavros 8:53 Fri Nov 21
Re: Everton Away Virgin
That was advice for the night out afterward. I ain't going to be there this year, unfortunately.

Yeah you ain't gonna want to drink in town before game Gav

Arkles is where all West Ham will be

Re: Everton Away Virgin
Decent pubs/ areas in Liverpool change a lot. Generally stay in the centre and do a pub crawl and see what you like is my advice. I would tend to stay on the hope street/ concert square side of town rather than the cavern quarter which can be more local. That said I've never had any bother.
